The consultation is the initial step in addressing TMJ problems. During this consultation, Dr Issa will conduct a thorough examination of your jaw and oral health, inquire about your symptoms and medical history. She may recommend imaging, like X-rays, scan or MRI to gain a comprehensive understanding of your condition.

After the consultation, Dr. Issa will work with you to create a tailored treatment plan.
She might suggest modifications to your habits, like avoiding certain foods, managing stress, and practicing jaw exercises to alleviate TMJ issues.

In some cases, medication may be prescribed to manage pain and inflammation associated with TMJ problems.
Custom-fitted oral devices can help reposition the jaw and reduce TMJ-related discomfort.
Physical therapy techniques may be employed to improve jaw mobility and reduce muscle tension.
Dental procedures may be recommended. Dr Issa will refer you to complete your dental treatments, such as orthodontics or dental restorations, which can correct issues that contribute to TMJ problems.

Surgical treatment performed by an oral surgeon is considered when conservative methods do not provide relief. Procedures may include arthrocentesis (a minimally invasive joint flushing procedure) or more complex TMJ surgery.

Dr. Issa is dedicated to delivering patient-centered care, and will work with you to choose the most appropriate treatment approach to alleviate your TMJ problems and enhance your quality of life.
